Alex Thornton

 Alex Thornton is a psychologist registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.  He completed his undergraduate degree at Monash University and his post graduate diploma at Charles Sturt University. He completed six years of service with the Australian Army as a Psychology Officer. He worked with the School of Infantry, Army Aviation Training Centre, and the Army Logistics Training Centre.

He has experience in counselling, psychoeducation, designing and delivering mental health workshops, and has worked extensively with trainee students undergoing technical military training.  He has worked with clients on the following issues:

In treating clients he aims to enable them to draw on their own innate strengths and resilience. Clients are encouraged to gain insight by considering alternative meanings and perspectives on their experiences. In addition, he aims to instruct clients in new techniques that they can use to manage emotional distress.

Cristian Acciarito

Cristian Acciarito is a general psychologist who is registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has studied for 5 years at Monash University, and has a degree in psychology as well as a major in behavioural neuroscience.

He has a warm, compassionate, and respectful style which incorporates a variety of techniques and approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy (IPT and IPSRT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Attachment Theory.

Cristian has experience working with a variety of presentations, and has worked with adults and adolescents on issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, drug and alcohol issues, and gambling addiction. Cristian also has a special interest in video game addiction.

In therapy, Cristian aims to support the client by helping them identify their goals and values, and working to draw on their strengths to achieve their intentions. He is curious and patient, and focuses on going at a comfortable pace for the client, helping them to grow and develop without feeling overwhelmed."
